Carolyn Ann Wetrich of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on April 1, 2026.

Born on December 20, 1938, in Iowa City, Carolyn lived a full and meaningful life, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her greatest joy was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Affectionately known as "MeMa" to her 12 grandchildren, Carolyn delighted in watching each of them grow. From hosting tea parties to cheering them on at sporting events, she was a devoted and loving grandmother who took immense pride in every one of them.

Carolyn never knew a stranger and had a remarkable gift for helping others. Whether painting rooms, packing and unpacking boxes, caring for her grandbabies, or organizing homes, she gave her time and energy generously—and always with a warm smile. She also had a special talent for home decorating and took great pride in creating spaces that were welcoming and beautiful. Her kindness and willingness to lend a hand will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A devoted sports fan, Carolyn rarely missed a chance to cheer on her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Her Catholic faith was central to her life, and she most recently spent 17 years as a faithful member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Blue Springs, Missouri.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy "Janie" Brown (Larry); her four children, Lori Worman (Craig), Lisa Strange, Chris Carspecken (Tracy), and Wendy Baumhoefener (Jamie); as well as her 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Vince and Dorothy Wetrich, and her brother, Rick Wetrich.

A memorial service will be held at Grand Living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Saturday, April 18, at 10:00 a.m.
