Carrie Stevens

Carrie Christine Stevens (Creel), aged 62, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, in Tyler, Texas, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. Born on February 13, 1964, in Birmingham, Alabama, Carrie lived a life defined by her unwavering faith, love for her family, and remarkable perseverance.

Carrie was the beloved daughter of Shelby Creel and the late Jerry Creel. Brother Paul Creel and his wife Catherine. Carrie was a devoted mother to her son Austin Hollon and his wife Carrie. She found immense joy in being a grandmother to Ashton Hollon (Chelsea), Ryan , Liberty Hollon, Vivian Hollon and great-grandson Carter Lee Hollon, who brought her endless pride and happiness. Family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Carrie’s faith in the Lord was a guiding light throughout her life. Her connection to prayer, worship, and the church community provided her with strength and comfort during both joyful and challenging times. She drew inspiration from her faith to face life’s trials with grace and determination.

Her independent spirit and perseverance were evident in all she did, especially during her battle with cancer. Despite the challenges she faced, Carrie’s will to live was fueled by her deep love for her family and an enduring desire to support her grandchildren as they grew.

Carrie’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. May her unwavering faith and love continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to share in her journey.

A private service will be held at a later date to honor Carrie’s life. Those wishing to pay tribute may consider donations to The Hospice of East Texas. Their compassion, care and support was the guiding light for our family.
