Cassandra Zelma Frye

Cassandra Zelma Frye went to be with The Lord on March 17th, 2025. She will always be remembered as a kind, loving, joyful and Godly person.

Cassandra was born on February 28th, 1958 in Powhatan VA. Her Mother Doris Frye passed away when Zelma was just 8 years old. And so her and her four brothers were then raised by their grandmother Virginia J. Smith. She graduated from Midlothian Highschool and she eventually moved into the city of Richmond.

It was there she had her son Brandon. Zelma and her son were practically inseparable, even up until her final moments on earth. She worked in many different jobs and industries including restaurant, safety inspection, construction, owning her own cleaning business, and so much more.

Her true passion was preaching and spreading the word of God as far as she could. She was part of many different churches in her life, and had her own ministry, The Apostles Church of God in Christ. Her and her son Brandon, would print out flyers and cards with scripture and hand them out in Richmond, and leave them everywhere they went. Her ministry grew online to Facebook as well as speaking engagements at other churches, and hosting community events.

She is survived by her son Brandon Frye, brother Lindsay Frye, aunt Ann Smith, and a host of other cousins and a niece. She was preceded in passing by her mother Doris Frye, grandmother Virginia J. Smith, brothers Allen, Gilbert, and Garrett, and a host of other family members.
