Catherine Mary Genery

Catherine Mary "Cathy" Genery, 63, passed away on February 4, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on December 26, 1962, in Camden, New Jersey, Cathy lived a life filled with creativity, devotion, and love for her family.

Cathy graduated from Camden County Vo-Tech High School, where she studied and was a proud member of the 4H club. Her passion for flowers and artistry led her to begin her career working for a florist. Later in life, she transitioned into administrative roles at FMC Corp and the State of Delaware. Ultimately, Cathy found her true calling as a caretaker for her family a role she embraced with unwavering dedication.

In 2024, Cathy embarked on a new chapter of her life when she moved to Florida to be closer to her son. For the first time, she lived independently in a cozy condo she called home alongside her beloved dogs, Quinn and Petey. She cherished this newfound independence and enjoyed spending time with new friends in her community. Whether playing bingo at the activity center or quietly watching the water from the dock near her home, Cathy found peace and joy in these moments.

Above all, to be able to be an active part in her son's life in Florida.

A devout Catholic throughout her life. Cathy was deeply involved in her faith. She served as a sponsor and godmother and taught Religious Education in Delaware until the school closed. Her commitment to her faith was evident in all aspects of her life.

Cathy's artistic talents were boundless. She had a knack for crafting holiday ornaments and decorating wreaths alongside her aunts. Her flower arrangements graced countless occasions with beauty and care. She also loved sketching and painting-expressions of her creativity that brought joy to those around her and more recently discovered a passion for nail art and design.

Family was at the heart of Cathy's world. She is survived by her son Henry (Vaughn) Genery; siblings Walter J Genery Jr (Terry), Joseph A Genery, Cynthia L. Doyle (Ted), and Jeffrey M Genery (Callie); nieces and nephews Christina, Jessica, Jimmy, Shelby, Carol, Crystal, Roman, and Olivia; great-niece Trinity; great-nephews Jaxon and Lincoln; as well as her beloved aunts Helen A Corre (Dillenschneider) and Patricia A Dillenschneider. She was predeceased by her mother Catherine A Genery (Dillenschneider) and aunts Rose A Dillenschneider, Mary A Lynch (Dillenschneider), and Sr. Grace A Dillenschneider.

Cathy's legacy is one of love, creativity, faith, and resilience. Her memory will live on through the lives she touched her family members who adored her, friends who cherished her company, and all who were fortunate enough to experience the warmth of her presence.

May Cathy's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass will be held on March 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Holy Child Parish 13 E Evesham Road. An Entombment will be held on March 9, 2026, at 12:30 PM at St. Joseph's Cemetery & Mausoleum 240 Lower Landing Road. Entombment to immediately follow the mass.
