Born on December 17, 1958, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Kitty spent most of her life in Dunwoody and Duluth, Georgia, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and caring for others. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor whose warmth and gentle spirit touched countless lives.

Kitty is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, John F. Bledsoe; her mother, Shirley Thompson; her sisters, Rhonda (Art) Moore and Jennifer (Paul) Stewart; and her cherished nieces and nephews, Nicholas (Ally) McDaniel, Chris Stewart, Rachel Stewart, and Sophia McDaniel. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Cathy Bledsoe; her nephew, Beau (Jenifer) Bledsoe; her niece, Brooke (Walter) Sapp; and her brother-in-law, Neil Bledsoe.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Thompson.

Kitty graduated from Peachtree High School in 1977 and North Georgia Technical College in 1979. She dedicated her entire professional life to childcare, a calling that perfectly reflected her nurturing heart. For 30 years, she faithfully served at Dunwoody Baptist Church Child Development Center, where she lovingly cared for generations of children. Many families remember her not just as a caregiver, but as someone who truly invested in the lives of the children she taught.

Kitty will be remembered for her love of gardening, her warm smile and gentle sense of humor, and her remarkable perseverance in overcoming her disability. She was unwavering in her devotion to her family and steadfast in her lifelong commitment to caring for others. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the compassion and love she so freely gave.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Dunwoody Baptist Church Chapel, 1445 Mt. Vernon Road, Dunwoody, GA. Visitation begins at 1:00 pm with the service beginning at 2:00 pm.
