Cathy Dee Bowlin, at the age of 69, passed away peacefully at home the morning of March 9, 2026, surrounded by her daughters and sister, in Arlington, WA. Born on October 25, 1956, Cathy was known for her spunky, hard-working, and strong character, traits that endeared her to all who knew her.
Cathy dedicated over three decades to the Arlington School District, beginning her career in 1983. Over the years she held various roles including paraeducator, custodian, and notably ended her career as a school bus driver, a position she held from 2000 until her retirement in 2018. Her commitment to the well being and safety of the students was evident in her daily interactions and diligent work ethic.
Beyond her professional life, Cathy was passionate about her home and garden and cherished the time spent nurturing her plants and yard as much as she did her relationships with her daughters and grandchildren. Her family was the centerpiece of her life, and she took immense pride and joy in their growth and achievements.
Cathy is survived by her daughters, Kamie Whitlock, Kimmy Burnell, and Kristina Burnell; sisters, Cindy Bowlin Milne and Caren Allard; and brothers, Richard Bowlin and Rob Burns and her many nieces and nephews. Her legacy continues through her grandsons Sean, Colby, Justin, Ashton Wammack and Keaton Eylander. She also leaves behind great-grandson, Kaison Wammack, with a great-granddaughter also on the way. She maintained a lifelong friendship with her ex-husband, Alan Haselow.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joel Thomas Bowlin; mother, Virginia Burns; sister, Cheryl Lynn Bowlin-Burnell; and brother, Thomas Bowlin.
Cathy's life was marked by her resilience, love, and the deep connections she fostered with those around her. Her presence will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Her family is at peace knowing she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
