Cathy Etzwiler passed away on October 27, 2025, in Loveland, Colorado. Born on April 9, 1960, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Cathy spent much of her life in Loveland with her husband, Duane, where they built a life rooted in dedication, and connection.
Her early years were shaped by a strong foundation in education. Cathy attended Berkley Elementary and Columbian Elementary before continuing on to Skinner Junior High and Horace Mann Junior High. She later graduated from North High School in Denver. These formative experiences helped shape her resilient spirit and enduring work ethic.
Cathy pursued a career in administration, where her attention to detail and organizational skills served her well. Later in life, she was so excited to retire so that she could join Duane in the lawn mowing business.
Her passions extended beyond work. Cathy had a deep appreciation for photography, capturing moments that told stories through her lens. She found joy in gardening, nurturing plants with care and patience. Her love of food was another avenue through which she expressed her passion. She enjoyed going out to eat with her sisters or cooking a steak on the grill up in the mountains. The outdoors called to her often; nature was not just a backdrop but an integral part of how she experienced life.
Cathy's family held a special place in her heart. She is remembered by her step-daughter Valerie Cummings (Aaron, Elijah and Jeremiah); sisters Laure Crisler and Amy Crisler; brother Mike Crisler (Kate); and nephew Joseph Knight (Samira, Riley). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Duane Etzwiler, as well as her parents Ildy and Carney Crisler.
Cathy's memory will live on through those who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. A Memorial Gathering will be held on December 13, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM at Berkley Community Church 3701 w 50th, Denver,CO
