Cecil Wyman died in his home December 12, 2025 at the age of 102. He was born and raised on a farm near Greeley, Colorado where he watched the airplanes transporting the mail fly overhead. He served in the South Pacific for the Navy then spent 9 months drawing tropical insects for the Smithsonian. He returned to Colorado and learned to fly, enjoying a job crop dusting in his native Colorado. Following college graduation, he qualified as a pilot for United Airlines. He proudly flew for United 31 years. He had moved to California to marry his wife Marilyn with whom he lived for 56 years. She was by his side at the time of his death, which left a void in her life. He loved airplanes and motorcycles. He loved teaching kids and grandkids how to ride dirt bikes and work on cars. He enjoyed long rides on his Honda Goldwing that took him as far as Alaska and Panama. He loved his dog Duba, and watching for hummingbirds outside the kitchen window. He embraced computers early on and learned new programs as they came out. He loved the Lakers and the Dodgers, hot sauce, a bowl of rocky road ice cream and a steak with a glass of red wine. He will be interred at Miramar National Military Cemetery.
