Chad Empey passed away in peace with his family by his side on August 18, 2025. He was born in Orlando Florida on September 12, 1964.

Chad grew up in Utah at the base of the beautiful Wasatch mountains amongst land to roam and play with his beloved animals, family and friends. Where the familiar scent of Russian olive trees was a reminder of home, the huge cottonwood tree that graced its own rope swing would swing its passenger high into a blissful glee.

He loved Mount Olympus and the magical desert landscape of Southern Utah.

Chad's fierce love and respect for animals was paramount. His highly sensitive heart aligned with each and every four legged and two legged creature, even the slippery, non legged creatures. Chad always wanted to help animals and be near them and he loved volunteering with animal shelters for that reason. He had a pet from childhood and through out his entire adult life. Each animal was a precious sentient being to him.

He had a playful personality and an impish grin like no other. His sweet and tender heart was unmatched. He rendered a childlike energy that was infectious. He always had a one liner at the ready with his sense of humor right on point.

Chad was an incredible writer. He had a beautifully organic ability to bring you into his words and feel his interpretations. He was a deep and creative soul.

He was fascinated with the alignment of things, the universe and the beyond.
He loved illusions, magic, fantasy and the push and pull of connections. He was intrigued by the magic of movies and worked on various film sets. He loved to see how the big machine worked behind the scenes. In fact, Chad worked many "behind the scenes" jobs throughout his life; whether it was a film set, stage hand, making food for various restaurants, he enjoyed creating something that made others feel good in his humble way.
He had a quiet wit and charm, rarely taking center stage, preferring to remain on the sidelines.

Chad had a strong connection with his spirituality and creativity. He loved nature, the stars, the moon, the sky above. His unique temperament was soft, happy and calm. His loving gravity was palpable and made people want to know him.

He had an opportunity to live in Peru for several months and worked along side a local community in a rural village. He had a deep connection with the people and they with him. It was one of the most transformative experiences in his life. He delved into his truest and highest self during that time.

Chad loved his family beyond measure, they were his tribe.
He cherished his mother and father and tried to do right by them. He loved his brothers deeply. Chad was faced with many obstacles in his lifetime. He worked tirelessly to overcome his struggles and never gave up.

He loved good music, it fed his soul and took him to magical places where he couldn't physically be...

Chad was particularly detailed. He had perfectly placed treasures and adored his collectibles, each one having a special meaning. Fascinated by how the world worked, he had every possible gadget that would challenge the senses. He loved to show off what each one could do to stimulate his audience. He was intrigued by the push and pull of things and how energies aligned.

Chad was so very loved by everyone who knew him.
His relationships ran deep. He was a true open heart and an incredibly sensitive soul.
Chad is love. Love is Chad. His energy lives on and remains strong.

"Some people care too much. I think it's called love."

"How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
