Charles H.S. Alldredge, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on November 20, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on April 1, 1943, in Washington, D.C., he led a life marked by public service, dedication, and deep love for his family and country.

Charles served with distinction in the United States Air Force for 22 years, retiring at the rank of Major. As a skilled pilot, he flew F-4 Phantom jets during the Vietnam conflict, completing numerous missions with courage and precision. His valor and commitment were recognized through several military honors, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Legion of Merit, and the Air Medal. After the Vietnam conflict, he transitioned to the F-111 Aardvark, which he flew until he retired.

Following his military retirement in 1987, Charles embarked on a second career that reflected his intellectual curiosity and drive for excellence. He returned to college to study accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant. He later served as a Senior Auditor with the Auditor General's Office for the State of Florida until his second retirement.

Charles was an intelligent and compassionate man whose gentle nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was deeply devoted to his family and took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His love extended to the family cats, whom he treated as cherished members of the household.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Margarete, of Washington, D.C.; and survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Maureen, seven adult children: Debra, Sharon, Carlos, Dale, Bernadette, Lynnanne and Kenneth; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Charles's legacy is one of honor, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Funeral will be held on January 16, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
