Charlie died peacefully at his home after a long battle with cancer. He fought a good fight.
Charlie received his PhD in Economics from Rutgers. He was an Economic consultant and professor.
Charlie was a tenured professor at the University of Wisconsin, Deputy Director of Harvard Energy and Environmental Policy Center and the Miller Chair of Government, Business and the Economy at USC. Charlie loved teaching!
Charlie specialized in energy and the environment. He was an expert witness and enjoyed that as much as he did teaching. He loved his job. Charlie worked on solar energy pricing, Navajo Energy Policies, pricing natural gas pipelines, econometrics, mathematics, electric engineering, complex expert testimony, mergers, strategy development, restructuring, energy, financial modeling, project finance, corporate finance, renewable energy, risk management.
Charlie authored 20 books, more than 100 articles and 200 testimonies. He was brilliant!
Charlie had the best sense of humor. He was generous to a fault. He helped his wife, Sally, build her dog rescue, Sally's Rescue, Inc. that has saved over 4500 dogs. Charlie was a huge dog lover! Charlie loved to exercise, read, watch tv (a lot!). He loved sports, especially basketball (Mavs fan when he passed) and dancing.
Charlie leaves his wife Sally of 34 years+, his son Charles J. Cicchetti II (Skip), (Jana) and his grandchildren, Charles J Cicchetti III (Charlie) and Savannah. Daughter Colleen Cicchetti Westerfield (Evan), granddaughter, Sophia, daughter Kristin Hughes (Eric), grandsons, AJ and Ryan.
We write this with a grieving heart for dear Charlie who will be missed by many and loved by his family forever and always. He was one of a kind, smartest person in the room and the family's rock!
