Charles Theodore deLisle Evans

Charles Theodore deLisle (Chuck) Evans, Jr, died March 24, 2026, at his home in Belleville, Illinois, after a long illness.

The son of Charles Evans, Sr and Mary Louise (nee Hohn) Evans, Chuck was born on October 22, 1944, in Washington, D.C. He grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in a stone farmhouse, stomping around the hills with his granddad and playing baseball. After graduating from the George School, Chuck went to Lafayette College, graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He later went on to receive an MBA from Columbia University with an emphasis in finance.

Chuck was an accomplished outdoorsman and backpacker. He was a fitness enthusiast, completing three marathons. He continued working out until near his death. He enjoyed watching sports, both professional and his daughters' softball games.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marti (nee Tinkle), of Belleville, Illinois, and their children Tiernan, of Oxford, England; Garrett (Naomi), of Meru, Kenya, and Kiri, of Fort Worth, Texas; as well as his brother Jeffrey. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margaret (Marnie) Evans.

Chuck was an active member of St George's Episcopal Church, where he served his Lord faithfully.

There will be a private remembrance service held by his family.
