Charles William Fife, Sr. 1937-2025
He had just celebrated his 88th birthday. Everyone knew him as "Bill".
Born on December 21, 1937, to parents known by the names of Callie and Buck Fife in Cincinnati, Ohio. The only other known family members consisted of a brother, Eugene Christopher Fife of Chicago and Eula Riggs of Kentucky, one of his aunts.
Bill passed away on December 28, 2025. To all that knew him, he will be missed. His friends, in both dirt biking and custom auto, will miss his quick wit and kindness. He had a huge heart, loved his family, and never hesitated to help anyone in need. He loved animals and took in many strays over the years.
Employed for several years by General Motors (GM) where he learned the art of auto upholstery restoration. He worked for a few other auto shops before moving to California and opening his own auto restoration shop.
He loved working and restoring vintage cars and customizing vehicles which he did for several well-known celebrities. He had numerous articles written about his work and won several trophies which were proudly on display.
Some of his fondest memories were of dirtbike riding in the Mojave Desert or Gorman, CA.
Preceded in death by son, Gary Wayne Fife, he is survived by his loving wife Janise; son Charles (Chuck) William Fife, Jr. (Belinda); Steven Thomas Fife (Grange) and Geketa Madeline. Stepchildren, Richard, Jim and Carol Tillitt (Hilden) from a previous marriage and Stephen, Sandy, Kathy, Tom, John and Robin from current marriage to Janise. Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather, and provider.
