Charles Douglas (Johns) Giovannone, 65, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Born on September 24, 1960, in Warren, Ohio, Doug was the beloved son of Carolyn and Charles Giovannone. The Giovannone family moved to Vero Beach, Florida, in the summer of 1971, where they have resided since.

Doug passed away suddenly during a morning motocross ride. He had a passion for both street motorcycles and motocross riding, enjoying the freedom they provided. Motocross was a way of life in his younger years, and street bike riding in later years. His love for motocross was reignited in recent times. He frequently spoke of finishing one race in the above 65 class and of his dreams of riding trails and tracks with his sons during vacations.

The only thing Doug was more passionate and excited to talk about than riding bikes was Jesus Christ. In December 2025, Doug celebrated 32 years as a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ, headquartered in Monongahela, Pennsylvania. He was an ordained teacher and had extensive knowledge and understanding of scripture, and he would happily spend hours sharing with anyone who would listen. Doug had an immense yet very humble adoration for our Lord Jesus Christ, rightly crediting Him for any and all things good in his life.

Doug had a profound gift for carpentry and construction. Most recently, he was employed as a superintendent by Helmet House Construction. Over the course of his career, he built many award winning homes in Vero Beach and along the Treasure Coast, garnering respect from many for his work ethic and commitment to the highest quality of workmanship.

Doug will be remembered for his humble spirit, love of cooking for others, unmatched work ethic, and deep loyalty to his loved ones.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Charles Johns Giovannone; his brothers, Daniel Giovannone and David Giovannone; and his sisters, Shirley Fussi and Cynthia Johns Dahl.

Doug is survived by his three children, Anthony, Briana, and Dominick; his mother, Carolyn Johns Giovannone; his sisters, Pamela Crawford, Sherry Barnes, Terry VanLoon (Charlie), and Carol Griffin (James); and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:30 AM, followed by a luncheon at The Church of Jesus Christ, 3801 W Midway Road, Fort Pierce, Florida 34981.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Church of Jesus Christ, Treasure Coast Branch, via cash or check.
