Charles Hartwell

Charles Albert Hartwell II, 55, of Torrington, Connecticut, passed away on March 4, 2026, in his hometown. Born on July 4, 1970, in Torrington, Charles spent his life deeply connected to the community he called home.

A graduate of Lewis Mills High School, Class of 1988, Charles dedicated much of his early career to helping others. He worked as an EMT for Champion Ambulance and volunteered tirelessly with local ambulance and fire departments. His commitment to serving others extended beyond his professional life; Charles was an ordained minister who found great joy in providing prayer and comfort to those in need. He especially cherished officiating weddings, bringing love and unity to countless couples.

Charles was a devoted family man who found immense happiness in spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his sisters Karen Pouliot and Lisa Robinson (Winston); his children Thomas Hartwell (Amanda), Samantha Hartwell (Carolanne), and Sean Hartwell (Patti); and his beloved grandchildren Abigail, Sadie, and Jackson. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever remember his kindness and wisdom. Charles was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Nancy Hartwell, as well as his wife, Diane Hartwell.

Known for being a good listener with a wealth of medical knowledge, Charles was often the person friends and family turned to for advice or support. His love for sports was evident in his unwavering loyalty to the Yankees, Patriots, and Celtics. He also enjoyed movies and reading but found his greatest joy in creating memories with those closest to him.

Charles's legacy is one of compassion, service, and unwavering dedication to those he cared about. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on March 14, 2026, at 02:00 PM at Torrington First Assembly of God 387 New Harwinton Road
