Charlie spent 8 years of his childhood in Denver, Colorado until his family moved to Covina, California, where he graduated from Covina High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. His academic achievements propelled him into a successful career as a computer programmer in the defense industry. Later in life, Charlie found fulfillment as a caretaker for disabled adults. For ten years, he devoted himself to this role with compassion and selflessness, embodying his gentle and generous spirit.

An Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, Charlie exemplified hard work and service from an early age. Throughout his life, he remained soft-spoken and sensitive, always attentive to the needs of others. Those who knew him admired his calm and congenial demeanor.

Charlie enjoyed many interests and activities. A sports fan all of his life, he enjoyed NASCAR races, baseball games, hockey matches, and football. He also loved roller coasters, traveling to Las Vegas or embarking on cruises. In quieter moments, he immersed himself in spy thrillers and action-adventure novels. He loved his TV crime dramas and games shows.

Charlie is survived by his wife Nancy Jarboe; his son Chris Jarboe; Chris's mother, Janice Jarboe; his sister and brother-in-law Vicki and Steve Copenhaver and his cousins Katherine Yost Hayden (Charlie) and David Yost (Catherine). He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Jarboe and Dorcas Lamont Jarboe.
