APRIL 10, 1955 – FEBRUARY 13, 2026
CADDO MILLS, TEXAS

It is with broken hearts and endless love that we announce the passing of Charles Ray Kirby on February 13, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by family.
Charles graduated from Seagoville High School in 1973. He enlisted in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division, and was honorably discharged with accommodations. He settled in Seagoville, Texas, married his high school sweetheart, raised his family, and was a faithful member of Robinwood Baptist Church. He served in many capacities there, including Director of the Royal
Ambassadors for many years. His career included Texas Masonry, Beasley Erectors, SCP Global Technologies, AmeriSpec, and lastly, Owner of Inspectors Texas, Home Inspection Company. As a home inspector, he loved what he did and the people he met. Finally, he retired in Caddo Mills, Texas where he focused on spoiling his grandkids and his very pampered chickens. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Paula, the love of his life and his partner in every adventure;
his children, Billy Kirby (wife, Crystal), Amy Wilson, and Cody Kirby; his beloved grandchildren, Liberty Bland (husband, Luke), Colton Kirby, Kennedy Kirby, Abigail Wilson, Garrett Wilson, and Raylee Kirby who were convinced Papa hung the moon just for them; his mother, Jackie Louise Robinson; sister, Shannon Medrano (husband, Rolando) as well as a host of other family and friends. Welcoming him to Heaven are his son-in-law, Heath Wilson, his dad, Jearldene Kirby, and many other beloved family members. Charles was the kind of man who made ordinary moments feel extraordinary. He never needed grand gestures to show how deeply he loved—he showed it in the quiet, steady ways that shaped
our lives forever. To his family—he was our safe harbor, our biggest cheerleader, and our moral compass. He taught us the value of hard work, not with lectures, but by example: rising early, keeping promises, treating every person with respect, and never giving up on the people you love. He laughed easily, forgave quickly, listened without judgment on the hardest days, and carried a quiet strength that
made us all feel that everything would be okay as long as he was near.
Though our hearts ache with his absence, we take comfort knowing he lived exactly as he wanted—with Christian love as his guiding principle and family as his greatest treasure. The world is dimmer without his smile, his steady hand, and his unwavering heart, but his love remains woven into every part of us.
A celebration of his life service was held at Vansickle Baptist Church, Greenville, Texas, on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 2PM. Reverend Dr. Fran Shelton, of Faith and Grief Ministries, a beloved family friend, officiating.
