Charles "Bill" McCormick

Charles William "Bill" McCormick, 76, passed away on December 13, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Born on February 14, 1949, in Gallipolis, Ohio, Bill was the son of the late Dillie Baird McCormick and Charles Richard McCormick. He graduated from Kyger Creek High School in Gallipolis in 1967. In 1970, he began his professional journey with the C&O Railroad. His dedication and work ethic led him to a long and respected career with CSX Transportation, where he served as an officer.

Bill shared 56 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife Diana "Jean" McCormick. He was a proud father to his son Bill McCormick Jr. (Shannon). Known affectionately as "Poppy," he cherished every moment spent with his granddaughters Julie Sprouse (Seth), Abigail "Abby" McCormick, and Eleanor "Ellie" McCormick.

He is also survived by his sister Lola McCoy and her husband Mark.

Bill will be remembered as a loving and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

A Visitation will be held on December 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Fruit Cove Baptist Church 501 SR 13. A Celebration of Life will be begin immediately after at 11:00.
