CHARLES DOUGLAS (DOUG) MILLER

Born on August 10, 1935, in Washington, D.C. Doug passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026 at Hospice Of The Chesapeake.
Doug is the beloved son of the late Clyde Daniel Miller and Marie Cecelia Miller (nee Gallagher).
Beloved brother of the late Donald Arthur Miller.
Loving husband of Doris Regina Miller (nee Lent).
Loving father of Timothy S. Miller and his wife, Linette, Scott D. Miller and his wife, Lorraine. Beloved grandfather of Julia Miller, Matthew Miller (Ali), Stephen Miller (Bethany), and loving great-grandfather of Maeve Kathleen Miller.
Doug and his mother moved to Baltimore in the late 1940’s, where he developed deep brothers of the heart friendships.
Doug began his career in the sporting goods industry at Triangle Sporting Goods in Baltimore in the late 1950’s. He then moved to a long career as a manufacturer’s representative with Paul Rowan & Associates in Palisades Park, New Jersey, under the leadership of John Valavan. Doug then moved to a working relationship with Russell Athletic as regional manager for the East Coast until his retirement in 2000. Friendships with his co-workers have lasted for many years.
He was deeply involved in supporting his sons’ participation in sports activities, often providing them with equipment, and coaching youth teams.
Doug was an avid golfer and was involved in charity work for Believe in Tomorrow. He was a life-time member of the Ferndale Community Club, enjoying the comradery of the membership. Doug also enjoyed card games twice a week with his friends.
A memorial mass celebrating Doug’s life will be held at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church in Linthicum, Md., followed by a remembrance gathering at the Ferndale Community Club. The dates will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Believe In Tomorrow.
