Charles Eurfryn Radle

1939 - 2025

Charles E. Radle Sr. of Halifax, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 22, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on February 22, 1939, in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, to the late William A. Radle and Wilma A. (Kimmel) Radle. He was the brother to the late Beverly Irene (Radle) Bosetti, who passed away in April 2025
Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Lenchen (Hefft) Radle; son Charles E. Radle Jr. (Anna Radle) of Severna Park, MD; daughter Patti Wrightstone (Kevin Wrightstone) of Etters, PA; and grandchildren Emilie Radle, Chase Radle, Makenzie Wrightstone, and Mallorie Wrightstone.
A graduate of Camp Hill High School, Charles went on to earn a degree in Animal Husbandry from Delaware Valley College in 1961. In February 1962, he entered the United States Army and served honorably in the 94th Ordinance Company at Fort Lee, Virginia, as a Fuels and Electrical Systems Repair Technician, receiving an honorable discharge in February 1965.
From 1968 until 1998, Charles dedicated his career to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, where in the last few years he served as Chief of Food Safety for the state of Pennsylvania. After retiring, he devoted his time to volunteer work, contributing to several local charities. From 1998 to 2008, he volunteered at the Central PA Food Bank and, from 2008 until his passing, volunteered at Caitlin's Smiles, an organization that brings joy to children facing serious illness.
Charles was an avid traveler and loved camping throughout the country with his wife and their Allegro RV group. He cherished attending his grandchildren's various events and took great pride in their accomplishments. He also enjoyed gardening and attending antique car shows. Though he would never admit it, Charles enjoyed the company of the many dogs he and Lenchen adopted over the years.
A graveside military service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with full honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Charles's memory to Caitlin's Smiles, 3303 N. 6th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
Charles's kindness, service to his country, and dedication to his community will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
