Charles Scott Strange

1974 - 2026

Charles “Scott” Strange, age 52, passed away on March 13, 2026. He was an avid outdoorsman whose greatest passions were hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and those he loved most.

Scott was born in Hokes Bluff, Alabama, to the late Alice Strange and Charles Edward Strange. During his teenage years, he moved to Southside, Alabama, where he later graduated from Southside High School in 1992.

Scott spent his working years as an engineer in the oil industry, a career that allowed him to travel and see much of the world. He took pride in his work and the experiences it brought him.

He will be remembered for his deep love of the outdoors and the time he spent with family and friends doing the things he enjoyed most. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply sharing laughter with those close to him, he truly cherished every moment. He also loved to cook, especially grilling fresh fish and preparing meals for his family—another way he showed his love for those around him. He had a signature smirk that so many knew and loved—one that spoke volumes without him having to say a word—and it will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. His presence, kindness, and love for his family will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, April Strange; his daughter, Emily Batson (Josh); his stepdaughters, Brittney Wooten (Josh) and Meghan Spears; his step grandchildren Emery Hairston and Thomas Carlson; and his brother, Todd Strange. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Strange and Charles Edward Strange.

Scott will be cremated.
