Charles "Charlie" Sturgen passed following a brief illness in North Carolina. He resided for many years in the Tully/Preble area of New York State. Born in Moira, N.Y. to Frank and Priscilla. He worked on projects throughout New York State, as a heavy equipment and crane operator. Member of the Operating Engineers local 545 for over 60 years. He is survived by his wife Natalie and children Craig, Karen, and Kim. Brothers Stewart, Sonny, and Roger. Sisters Gay, Patsy, and Judy, (pre deceased Richard and Glenda) Grandchildren Ryan, Chad, Curt, Shaun, Kathryn, Jordan, and Andrew, A large extended family of cousins and great grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, music, and sharing stories and humor with all who would listen and laugh with him. His hobbies included collecting coins, antique cars, playing cards, the guitar, violin, and harmonica. Dabbling in town politics, raising chickens, bee keeping, and transforming landscapes with his backhoe. Memories are held dear to many, and he is missed. A celebration of life service is planned for April 25 at The Tully United Community Church for 1:00 PM. A burial is planned for May 8, in Dickinson, NY.
