Charlie Burton Phillips, 67, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Kennedyville, Maryland. Born on October 16, 1958, in Annapolis, Maryland, Charlie lived a life rich in music, faith, and love for his family.
Charlie was a loving husband to Tracy Phillips and a devoted father to Rebekah McSherry and Hannah Phillips-Micheliche. He also embraced his role as a stepfather to Jeremiah Pace and McKaylah Pace with warmth and care. He truly loved them as his own children. His sister, Jeanette Krause, shared a lifelong bond with him that remained strong through the years. Among his greatest joys were his grandchildren, Evelyn Micheliche and Leo Micheliche, who brought light and laughter into his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Marilyn Phillips, and his brother Ralph Phillips.
A gifted musician from an early age, Charlie's passion for music was a defining part of his life. He played in numerous bands over the years, sharing his talent with joy and enthusiasm. Whether strumming a guitar or bass, or singing alongside friends, he found deep fulfillment in creating music that touched the hearts of many.
Charlie's passion for collecting was unmatched—guitars, musical equipment, hunting gear, antique signs, knives, and even fun t-shirts filled his world with joy.
His devotion to faith guided much of Charlie's journey. Over the years, he served faithfully within his church community—as a congregant, trustee, deacon, and eventually pastor. In each role, he offered compassion and guidance to those around him, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives.
Family was at the heart of everything Charlie did. He cherished every moment spent with loved ones—whether gathered around the dinner table or playing with his grandchildren. His dogs were also beloved companions who received the same affection he gave so freely to everyone he knew.
Charlie will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering happiness. Known for always being ready to lend a hand, share a smile, or even telling a corny joke, he brought comfort and joy wherever he went. His gentle spirit touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of love.
