Charlotte Jean (Barnett) Smith passed away on May 14, 2025, at her home in Sun City, Arizona. Jeanie sadly left us at the young age of 76 years, but her passing was a relief after suffering more than four years following an injection with the Covid vaccine.

While we mourn her moving on to a better place, we celebrate the incredible journey she shared with us. A beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Jeanie was a true example of joy, humor, boundless energy with a firm commitment to be a faithful daughter of God.

Born on October 12, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, she soon ventured far and wide, taking the world as her home. In 1966 she moved to Idaho, where she met and then married "my Keith." Through decades together they lived in Alberta, Utah, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus and New Zealand. Eventually they returned to the USA where, after touching base again in Utah, off they went to Colorado before finally settling in the warmth of Arizona in Sun City.

It took but a moment in every location for Jeanie to fulfill her true calling of being a friend to all. She loved experiencing new cultures but it was her irresistible passion to meet new people and quickly adopt them as lifelong friends that was the highlight of her personality.

Jeanie was indeed a light unto the world.

Jeanie leaves behind her husband of 58 years Keith, her children Trent Leroy (Kim) of Vancouver, BC; Tanalee (Kevin) of Adelaide, Australia; Te Koi (Cherry) of Sandy, UT; Taryn (Bryant) of Chandler, AZ; and sisters Bev (Steve) of Port Charlotte, FL and Debbie (Junie) of Bardstown, KY.

She adored and will miss her grandchildren Miles, Aiken, Ray, Claire, Lulabelle, Cameron, Carson, Emerson, Bryson and Addison.

Jeanie's legacy includes a vast network of friends from across the globe who will never forget the humor and warmth and spiritual uplift she brought to their lives.
Jeanie is now reunited with her parents Herman and Evelyn (Baker) Barnett and multiple family members and friends who have gone on before.

Those wishing to share in celebrating Jeanie's life can join us at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 13014 N. 108 Ave in Sun City AZ at 11:00 AM on Friday May 23rd. Burial will take place in Alberta on May 29th following a memorial service held at the chapel at 338 5th Ave East in Cardston at 11:00 AM.
