We regretfully announce the passing of Charron Kay Fender (Edholm) of Rancho Cordova, California on October 30th, 2025. She was surrounded by her family and passed away unexpectedly from heart disease at the age of 87.
Charron was born in Effingham, Illinois and her family moved to California when she was young. She graduated high school from Saint Joseph’s Academy in Sacramento in 1956. During her high school years, she met Robert Fender, whom she married after graduation. The two were a match made in heaven, going on to have five children: Denette’, Darcie, Robert Jr., Ray, and Donald. They were married for over 60 wonderful years before Robert passed away. Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Charron’s life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She was a caring and loving mother who gave her all to her family. She was a woman of strong faith, and we will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.
Charron was a homemaker at heart and loved to sew and make clothes for all of us and could always be found doing arts and crafts of many kinds. She ran a successful day care business for many years and loved camping at Dillon’s Beach and Pardi Lake with family and friends. Over the years, Charron also made some of the most elaborate, beautiful wedding cakes you’ve ever seen.
Charron was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, Leo and Aldona (Charron) Edholm; her brothers, Donald and Leo; and her sister, Patricia (Edholm) Visser. She leaves behind her five children, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration Of Life will be held at Mobil Country Club clubhouse, 2473 Sunrise Blvd, Rancho Cordova 95670 on January 18th, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend and help commemorate Charron’s wonderful life.
