Cheryl Lewis, age 51, passed away on December 7, 2025, in Seattle, Washington. Born on August 14, 1974, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Cheryl's journey was one marked by deep faith, unwavering love for her family, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Rainier Beach High School in 1992, Cheryl continued to pursue her education with determination and purpose. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from South Seattle Community College and went on to complete her bachelor's degree with a double major in interdisciplinary studies and psychology at Central Washington University in 2009. Her academic achievements reflected her commitment to growth and understanding qualities that she carried into every aspect of her life.
Cheryl's heart was rooted firmly in her family. She was a devoted sister to Joseph and Anita Lewis, and a beloved aunt to Daniel, Ashley, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Joshua and a great aunt as well. Cheryl held close the memory of those who preceded her in death: her father James N. Lewis, mother Jo Ann Lewis, and brothers James N. Lewis II and Daniel Lewis III.
Family was everything to Cheryl. She loved unconditionally and gave selflessly offering advice when needed, lending financial support without hesitation, or simply being there with a listening ear. Her presence brought comfort and joy; she had a gift for making others feel seen and valued. Whether through laughter shared over a meal or quiet moments of encouragement during difficult times, Cheryl made it known that family mattered above all else.
Her passions were as vibrant as her personality. Cheryl found joy in sewing and cooking—crafting meals that nourished both body and soul—and she delighted in playing video games during moments of relaxation. But perhaps most importantly, she found fulfillment in caring for those around her.
Cheryl's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She accepted our Lord and Savior with conviction and believed deeply in prayer, miracles, and the resurrection power of Christ. Her spiritual strength gave her peace amid life's trials and hope for eternal reunion with God.
Those who knew Cheryl will remember the laughter she brought into every room—the jokes told with horrible timing, the warmth of her smile—and the way she made people feel like they belonged. Her final words were a testament to the depth of her love: "Call my family—I'm done!" Even at the end of her earthly journey, Cheryl's thoughts were with those she held dearest.
A Memorial service honoring Cheryl's life will be held at a future date.
May Cheryl's memory bring comfort to those who knew her and serve as a lasting reminder of the power of faith, family, and unconditional love.
