Chris Ann Lewthwaite, 65, passed away peacefully at her home on March 12, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
Born September 5, 1960, Chris Ann grew up in Rockaway, New Jersey, where she made lifelong friends who became family. She later made Budd Lake, New Jersey, her home, where she raised her three children: Shannon, Amanda, and Shane. Later in life, she moved to Magnolia, New Jersey, to be closer to family.
Anyone who knew Chris Ann would describe her as a force of nature; she loved fiercely and lived with conviction. She was funny, brutally honest, and incredibly loyal. You never had to guess how she was feeling or what she was thinking. Chris Ann embodied bravery and strength throughout her life, especially during her nearly seven-year battle with advanced-stage cancer.
To say Chris Ann was a devoted mother would be an understatement. She always put her children’s needs ahead of her own, and her love was unwavering and unconditional. What brought her the most joy was being with her children, spending time with her two beautiful granddaughters, and enjoying regular visits and vacations together as a family.
Chris Ann was proud to be a Registered Nurse and dedicated her life to caring for others in their time of need. In addition to her compassion, she demonstrated leadership and ultimately became a Director of Nursing. Chris Ann loved cooking and searching for new recipes, crafting, spending time at the Jersey Shore, shopping (especially for shoes), watching HGTV, and hosting friends and family. She also had a passion for perfecting her outdoor gardens and building her indoor plant collection.
She was preceded in death by her father, Warren Hubin. She leaves behind her mother, Barbara Hubin; her brother, Kenneth Hubin, and nephews, Tyler and Matthew; her sister, Susan Hubin, and sister-in-law, Diana Martinez. Chris Ann also leaves behind her beloved children and grandchildren: daughter Shannon Lewthwaite and her partner, John Meres Jr.; daughter Amanda Price and her husband, Geoffrey, along with their daughters, Cameron and Kennedy; and her son, Shane Lewthwaite.
Chris Ann will be deeply missed as a grandmother, mother, sister, daughter, and friend by many.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Saint Clement Pope & Martyr Roman Catholic Church, 154 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Dover, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Chris Ann Lewthwaite to the Fund for the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania (https://giving.apps.upenn.edu/fund?program=MC&fund=600499).
