Send Flowers Plant A Tree
Christian (Chris) Michael Delatorre II, 31, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away suddenly on March 3, 2026 at his home. Chris was born on May 6, 1994 in Bay Area, California. He was raised by his wonderful mother, Rose Brown and also had a very special bond with his grandparents, Buddy and Edna. He attended JROTC while in highschool and graduated in 2012 from Mount Diablo High School, Concord, California.

After graduating highschool Chris wanted to join the military, but due to medical reasons he was unable to accomplish this dream. He also "thought" he wanted to be a dental hygienest & after entering the program, quickly realized that working in peoples mouth's wasn't for him (lol). Chris eventually made his way to Iowa to work with a friend & then ended up working a variety of different jobs while living in Iowa. Chris was extremely ambitous when it came to working and could fit into any work environment, no matter what job he had. He had goals of joining the plumbers union in 2027.

Chris loved his family wholeheartedly, near and far. He often talked about making it back to California to visit his sister, Kristina and to where ever the army took his sister, Kayla, her husband and his nephews, Beckett and Oakley. Chris was looking forward to welcoming another nephew due this May. Chris had one brother, Tim Stiles of Sacremento, California. He also had a step brother, Taylor Ray who he was looking forward to meeting. Chris had a great relationship with his mother, Rose and cherished the times he was able to make it to Kentucky to visit her and his "pops," Mark.

While he did face some hardships after moving to Iowa, that is what led him to meeting his one and only, true love of his life, Amanda Chapman. His "Queen," as he called her. Chris longed to be the man he felt Amanda always deserved and had future plans of asking her to marry him. They shared a very loving and special relationship and Amanda will forever miss & love him deeply. Chris gained his "Iowa Mom," Leanna Long through his relationship with Amanda. Chris & Leanna loved to go thrift shopping together. Leanna helped Chris accomplish one of his proudest goals of getting his license while teaching him to drive and run her around on her errands, which he thoroughly loved doing. Chris was extremely proud of himself for saving and purchasing his first car. Leanna loved Chris like her own son and she will always be remembered as his "Iowa Mom," and for all of the love she had for him. Chris always wanted to be a father and was the greatest with children. Amanda gave him that gift through her son, Jayden, who Chris had a very unique bond and connection with. They enjoyed playing video games, playing catch, tinkering with cars and Jayden was looking forward to teaching Chris how to fish this summer. Jayden loved Chris and looked up to him as a father figure. Chris gained another sister, Krystal Shipley also through Amanda. Krystal considered Chris her brother and will be missed deeply by her. Chris loved spending time at her home on Christmas. Chris always gave the best gifts and was very thoughtful in all his purchases for his loved ones. Chris loved being "Uncle Chris," to his neices and nephews, biological and unbiological. Chris will be deeply missed by his niece, Azaria and nephew, Roman who he had grown very close with and looked forward to spending time with. He was also looking forward to growing a bond with his newest niece, Toni.

Chris had the biggest heart and one of the sweetest smiles. He was always putting others before himself and always strived to be the best version of himself. He was an avid lover of baseball. He loved collecting baseball cards and could tell you so many different facts about the game and the players! He also had an avid love for music and making his own music, known to many as "Risen Mikey." You never saw Chris without an ear pod in his ear listening to something. One silly fact about Chris is he loved Mexican food, especially burritos! Amanda and Chris spent many dates trying out different mexican restaurants around town, as Chris was on the look out for the best burrito in town! Chris and Amanda's favorite thing was going to find something to eat together and tryng new restuarants around town. They spent this recent Valentine's Day going to Amanda's home town so she could take Chris to try her favorite pizza restaurant. Throughout Chris and Amanda's relationship, Amanda was determined to get Chris to another of her favorite places, the ocean! This past October they made that happen, spending a week in Gulf Shores, Alabama together in a condo on the beach. Chris was able to experience this with his beloved, "Iowa Mom," Leanna as well and had the best time of his life!

Chris often talked about wanting to visit his grandma, Edna before her passing, but due to her living in California was unable to make it happen. She was incredibly missed by him. We are comforted in knowing she was there to welcome Chris to heaven with open arms and they could finally be reuinted. Chris will continue to be endlessly missed and loved by all his family, friends and anyone he made an impact on in life.

Chris was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents, Buddy and Edna, Papa Dennis and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There are no plans for a funeral due to Chris's sudden passing. He will be cremated and returned to his mom, Rose in Louisville, Kentucky.
