Christian McKenzie Frost

Christian McKenzie Frost, known as Chris, was a dedicated cyclist with significant experience and accomplishments in the sport. He concluded his final event on March 15, 2026. His memorable smile and affable nature were hallmarks of his character.

Chris was born in Birmingham, MI, the second son among four siblings to Jerry and Nancy Frost. His entrepreneurial inclination emerged early, selling seeds door-to-door to fund his interests in model airplanes and slot cars.

Athletics played a central role throughout his life. Regular participation in the local ski club led to his certification as a ski instructor. Involvement in track and cross country instilled the discipline emblematic of endurance sports.

Cycling was especially prominent for Chris. He maintained bicycles in his father's workshop and modified them to enhance performance. His custom road bike, crafted by a distinguished Italian frame builder, was a particular source of pride.

The establishment of a high school cycling club marked the beginning of his extensive cycling journey. Chris competed regionally, nationally, and internationally at the top levels for premier cycling teams, excelling in multiple disciplines including track, criterium, road, and mountain biking.

Following his racing career, Chris contributed significantly to the cycling industry through mentoring new riders, promoting events, and officiating competitions. The cycling community remained integral to his life.

Chris also valued relationships deeply. During his tenure with a leading business publication, he traveled extensively, engaging with executives and world leaders. His experiences were diverse, and his accounts consistently engaging.

A keen interest in history accompanied remarkable memory skills; lineage held great significance for him, reflected in his proud display of ancestral tartans.

Family and friends were of utmost importance to Chris. He maintained close contact over the years, always offering a cheerful greeting when reaching out by phone or email.
