Christine Irene Maher (formerly O’Connor), 57, passed away on January 25, 2026, in her home in Abrams, Wisconsin, surrounded by love.
Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and raised in Homestead, Florida, and Chitré, Panama, Christine lived a life full of warmth, curiosity, and connection. She carried that spirit everywhere she went.
She is survived by her husband, William Maher; her children, Robert Arguelles, Lauren Coleman, and Daniel Galvan; her step-son, Timothy Maher; and her grandchildren, Francisco Contreras III (Jr.), Ethan Stollfus, Abigail Maher, Landon Mayernik, Anthony Arguelles, Evelyn Arguelles, Kinsley Coleman, Adaline Arguelles, and Lilliana Galvan. She is also survived by her parents, Robert O’Connor and Gladys Soto.
Christine was most proud of her work with Green Bay Area Public Schools, where she served in the district office for 26 years. She loved supporting her coworkers and helping families, and her kindness and joy left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
She found happiness in the simple things, camping trips, traveling adventures, baking, crafting, attending craft shows, and painting rocks. Christine’s infectious happiness, playful personality, and generous heart are what people will remember most. She cared deeply, loved fiercely, and made life brighter for so many.
She had a voice that brought comfort, whether she was singing, laughing, or simply reminding you that everything would be okay. Christine had an unmatched ability to make people feel loved, protected, and never alone.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 14, 2026. All are welcome to attend; RSVPs will be required so the family can plan accordingly.
Christine would want everyone to know that there is no need for worry or sadness. She is now at peace, joyfully reunited in heaven with her brother, Robert, and her stepmother, Janice — a reunion she long anticipated.
