Christopher "Zeke" Bruschi, 73, passed away on December 3, 2025, in Hampton Bays, New York, surrounded by his children, grandson, and fiancée, with his favorite records playing.
A lifelong musician and passionate bass player, Chris shared joy through music as a proud member of Mean Gene and the Flamethrowers, along with many other bands throughout his life. From the Bronx to the Hamptons, he built a community of friends who became family. Chris believed deeply in service and often gave back through his music, playing for benefits, fundraisers, and church events.
Chris lived fully and authentically. With a rock-and-roll soul, a hippy heart, and a quick wit, he was always ready with a joke, a story, or a song to lift spirits. Guided by his motto, "Peace, Love, and Rock and Roll," he brought joy, kindness, and a little mischief wherever he went.
An avid reader, writer, Yankees fan, history buff, and dog lover, Chris cherished life's simple pleasures, especially time with friends, family, and playing music.
Chris is survived by his beloved fiancée, Pat Greenberg; his son, John Bruschi; his daughter, Danielle Bruschi (Nicole); his grandson, Christian Bruschi; and his Niña, Karol Bruschi. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy Bruschi.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Hampton Bays American Legion, where friends, family, and fellow musicians will gather to honor his life with music, food, shared memories, and laughter.
Come read a poem, sing a song, tell a story, or jam with other musicians as we celebrate the life of Chris. His memory will live on in every note played in his honor and every smile sparked by one of his stories. May the rhythm of his life continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Peace, love, and rock and roll forever.
