Christopher "Chris" Cartheuser, 41, passed away on December 9, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on December 21, 1983, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Chris was just days away from celebrating his 42nd birthday.

Chris spent his formative years in Cincinnati, where he attended Cincinnati Country Day School from kindergarten through twelfth grade. His early education laid the foundation for a lifelong love of learning and critical thinking. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Arizona in Tempe and later completed a Master of Science in Human Resource Development at Florida International University.

Chris recently reached a significant milestone in his professional life when he was appointed as a Human Resources Success Partner at Austin Center for Exceptional Students, ACES. This role brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He often shared that he had finally found a workplace where he felt truly at home—surrounded by like-minded individuals who inspired and supported him.

Chris's passions extended far beyond his career. A gifted chess player and avid athlete, he was active in competitive chess as well as soccer and tennis. He found peace and inspiration in nature—walking through preserves and butterfly gardens, exploring creeks for Indian artifacts, and rescuing animals in distress whenever he encountered them. His intellectual curiosity led him to spirited debates on politics, philosophy, and environmental issues—topics he approached with both passion and thoughtfulness.

He was a passionate football, soccer and Sumo wrestling fan, finding fascination in both the strategy and spectacle of sport.

Chris leaves behind a loving family who will miss him deeply. He is survived by his grandmother Fran Hunter; father Kent Cartheuser; mother Robin Harris Jackson; bonus dad George Jackson; sisters Lauren Cartheuser, Brooke Bristol, and Brandi Jackson; brother Christopher Jackson; aunts Jolie Harris and Diane Cartheuser; uncles Scott Harris and Christopher A. Cartheuser; niece Novalee Schneider; nephews Theo Schneider, Mason Bristol, and Adonis Bristol.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Joseph W. Harris; maternal grandmother Gayle Eason Blais; maternal uncle Mark Harris; and paternal grandfather Donald Cartheuser.

Chris's life was marked by deep intellect, compassion for others—human and animal alike—and an unwavering commitment to authenticity. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Memorial Gathering will be held on December 27, 2025, at 01:00 PM, Service/Eulogy at 2:00, at Spring Grove Cemetery 4389 Spring Grove Ave.
