Christopher David Jenkins, age 52, of Moriarty, New Mexico, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at home on January 30, 2026, surrounded by his devoted animal family. Born on June 30, 1973, in Georgia, Christopher lived a life dedicated to service, compassion, and adventure.

Christopher's journey of service began in the U.S. Army, where he became a medic. His passion for helping others led him to pursue a career in nursing. He earned his nursing degree from Southern Union Community College in Opelika, Alabama, and later completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Ball State University in Marion, Indiana. For 27 years, Christopher worked as a registered nurse, touching countless lives through his skill and dedication.

It was during his time working in an Indianapolis emergency room that Christopher met Anna Duncan, who would become his wife of 25 years. Together, they embarked on a life filled with love and shared purpose. Their journey took them westward as they pursued travel nursing. Upon crossing the Rocky Mountains for the first time, Christopher declared he would never return east. The West became their home, with Idaho holding a special place in Christopher's heart. It was there that many cherished memories were made and lifelong goals achieved.

Christopher's career was marked by extraordinary accomplishments. He served as a flight nurse, providing critical care to underserved areas and acting as a first responder in emergencies. His commitment to service extended overseas as a medical contractor and at home as a reserve deputy for his local county. He also contributed to the nursing profession by serving on the Idaho Board of Nursing. A man of principle and community spirit, Christopher became both a Mason and a Shriner, embodying their values of fellowship and charity.

Christopher's love for animals was profound and unwavering. His animal companions were his constant source of comfort and joy. In passing, he joins his beloved Belle and other cherished pets who crossed before him.

Christopher is survived by his father, Dr. Chester Jenkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his mother, Janice Ingle of Tulsa; his sister Amy Schaffer (David) of Tulsa and their children David Jr., Miriam, Samuel, James, Anna, and Sallie; his sister Whitney Moss (Alec) of Tulsa and their children Charlotte and Henry; and his wife Anna Duncan Jenkins of Moriarty, New Mexico. He is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, colleagues, mentors, students he considered family, and his devoted animal companions.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Sallie Ray.

Christopher's life was one of selflessness and dedication—a golden heart that touched so many lives through his work as a nurse, soldier, mentor, and friend. His hardworking hands are now at rest; God has given him wings to soar freely and peace everlasting.

May Christopher's memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Memorial Gathering will be held on April 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church 4200 S.Atlanta Pl
