Christopher Steven Snapp passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was 61.
Chris was a graduate of Lafayette High School and the University of Kentucky, where he earned a degree from the College of Communications. He continued his studies with graduate work in Communications Research at UK and later in Xavier University's Executive MBA program. He was blessed with a natural athleticism and a restless love of motion—hiking trails, traveling roads, and riding his motorcycle into the wide-open places that made him feel most alive.
Chris lived with a spiritual center. He met life with an open hand, often saying, "It's all God's deal," and he meant it—accepting the turns, the weather, and the timing with a kind of steady faith. And his greatest gift—his lasting legacy—was his willingness to share his own hard-won journey so others could find their footing in theirs. He helped people not by pretending life was easy, but by telling the truth about it with courage and heart. He was loved by many, and will be remembered for his brilliant sense of humor and his honest, straightforward way of being in the world.
Chris will be deeply missed by his life and soul partner, MarciLynn Sammartin Casey, and by her two sons, Christian Casey and Kellen Casey.
He is also survived by his loving sister, Joetta Smith, and her husband Sherrill Smith of Louisville, KY.
Arrangements are pending for an early spring memorial service in Lexington, KY.
