It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our son, Christopher James Taylor, 34, of Saugus on March 2, 2026 while traveling in Thailand.
Christopher, a graduate of Saugus HS joined the US Coast Guard completing 4 years and went on to become a Saugus Police Officer until an injury ended his career.
Christopher was like a gale force wind, he was funny, sensitive, brave, loved to give unexpected gifts, very protective of family and friends, he could also be very serious and opinionated, and dreamed big. If you were in his friends circle, it was for life. He loved traveling with his wife and daughter who he loved fiercely. He had a passion for MMA training, fighting, and teaching. He loved to hang out with his brothers, often golfing, couples bowling, fishing, or having a cookout. He loved camping as a youth through adulthood, enjoyed painting nature themes, and working out at the gym.
He is survived by his parents, Darlene Stickney Taylor and Christopher Z Taylor, brothers Justin Stickney and Nicholas Taylor, his wife Elizabeth Gutierrez Taylor and beloved daughter Kaia Malin Taylor. He leaves behind his Aunts Doreen Tinkham, Natasha Stickney, Michele Averbach, Alana McClure and their families, Uncles Wayne Stickney, Eric Taylor, George and Marlene Karavetsos, and their families, Grandparents Judith Stickney, Earl & Sandra Stickney, his best friend Dillon Hartigan, and a very large circle of friends and extended family. He is predeceased by Grandparents Michael and Claire Karavetsos and his Uncle Mikey Tinkham.
We would like to thank the Saugus Police Department for their unwavering support, Defensive Edge Martial Arts for the upcoming fundraiser for his daughter Kaia and tribute to Christopher. Thank you to all the friends who have also offered their support and love during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MSPCA at Nevins Farm Methuen, Northeast Animal Center in Salem, or the World Wildlife Foundation
