Claire Danko of Slatington, PA, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on August 16, 1970, Claire was known for her passion for life, which was evident in her love for cooking, baking the best chocolate chip cookies, dancing in the kitchen, and her family.
Claire served as the President of The Wine Club at Blue Mountain Winery, where she combined her leadership skills with her enthusiasm for wine, greatly enriching the wine community. Her role allowed her to touch many lives, bringing joy and a sense of community to those around her.
She leaves behind her husband of 32 years, George Danko, and their son, Travis Danko. She is also survived by her daughter, Tawnie Rhoads, and granddaughter, Brooke Higgs. Her father, Richard J. Weeks, and her siblings, Normagene Mauger, Mary Beth Warsheski, Nicole Rundell, Ronald Mealey, Barbara Weeks-Graff, Richard Weeks Jr., Jenelle Weeks-Schmoyer, and Samantha Weeks, along with many nieces and nephews, will remember her, and her chocolate-strawberry trifle fondly. Claire was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Mealey.
A service to celebrate Claire's life will be held on Sunday, December 7, at 10 AM at Hunsicker Funeral Home, 3438 Rt. 309, Orefield, PA 18069.
