Claire Lucille Forster (née DeVoll) passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025 in Alexandria, Virginia where she had been a long-time resident.

Born on August 15, 1932, in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, Claire began her career as a registered nurse. After meeting her husband, she embraced life as a U.S. Navy officer’s wife and devoted mother of four. Of the many places she lived, Claire especially cherished her years in Virginia, where she ultimately chose to settle in her later life.

In retirement, she delighted in playing bridge, volunteering at Mount Vernon Estate, and cheering on her favorite teams—the Green Bay Packers and the Washington Redskins.

Claire is survived by her four children, Michael (Margot), Nancy, James (Kristine), and Robert, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, as well as her brother Nathaniel DeVoll of Colorado Springs, Colorado and many nieces and nephews. Claire was predeceased by her brother, Jack DeVoll and his wife Shirley, daughter-in-law Shirley Forster (née Joy), and granddaughter, Victoria Anne Forster.

The family would like to thank Paul Spring Retirement Community in Alexandria, Virginia, where Claire resided for nearly two years, for their kind and compassionate care. Interment will be private.
