Claudette Bennett

1943 - 2026

Claudette Bennett of Greenville, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on March 11, 2026. She was reunited with her cherished husband, John Lloyd Bennett, Sr., whom she had dearly missed since his passing in 1992.

A graduate of Reading High School, Claudette went on to have a long and fulfilling career with Western Electric, which later became Lucent Technologies and AT&T. Her decades of service were marked by hard work and commitment. After retirement she found joy in giving back to others by assisting the elderly through Seniors Helping Seniors. Her compassionate nature shone brightly in all that she did.

On May 5, 1967, Claudette married the love of her life, John Lloyd Bennett Sr. Their marriage was marked by deep devotion and partnership, and together they shared 25 loving years before his passing. His loss was felt profoundly, and Claudette carried the love and memory of her husband with her for the rest of her life.

Claudette’s life was guided by her deep Roman Catholic faith and spiritual convictions. She lived quietly, with a creative spirit reflected in her passions for gardening, crocheting, needlepointing, painting, and caring for her beloved dog, Dreyfus.

Claudette is survived by her four children: John Lloyd Bennett II, husband of Edin Cambrán; Jean Acosta, wife of Armando Acosta; James Bennett, husband of Jennifer Bennett; and June Hawk, wife of Michael Hawk; as well as ten grandchildren: Michael Rapp II, husband of Gail Bensing; Isabel Acosta; Lillian Acosta; Emily Acosta; Logan Kurzweg; Brody Streeter; Andrew Bennett; Zoë Hawk; Lyla Hawk; and Juliet Bennett. She is also survived by her brother, William Angstadt.

Claudette was predeceased by her parents, LaRue and William Angstadt Sr., as well as her husband, John Lloyd Bennett Sr. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
