Claudette Pamela Fredericks transitioned to her Heavenly home on April 7, 2026 in Catonsville, MD. She was the second of five children, born on September 13, 1954 in Linden, Guyana to Norma McKenzie and the late Cecil Singh.

She was a graduate of McKenzie High School, and attended Saint Aidan's Anglican School. While Georgetown, Guyana was the heart of her home for most of her life, her love for her family drew her to emigrate to the United States, spending significant times in Brooklyn, NY, Philadelphia, PA, and Baltimore, MD. Claudette worked as a Secretary to the Office of the President of Guyana, and moved from an esteemed career to the role of a lifetime - Mother. Her marriage to Joslyn Fredericks welcomed two sons, Nigel and Lonsdale, who represent and remain her most treasured gifts on this earth.

Her spirit was one of a kind. Always filled with a sense of independence, she lived life on her terms. She knew how to persevere and embrace her great resilience. She was particular and determined, at times to the point of stubbornness, and she knew how to convey her sentiments in the most colorful of ways. Yet, beneath that feisty exterior was a side known to many: her immense generosity. She was grateful for her family and the people around her. Some of her favorite moments were spent shopping and travelling with her loved ones, sharing memories and laughs, and the quiet, rhythmic peace she found in crocheting.

Claudette's legacy will remain in the greatness of her character. She didn't give up - even if she was the only one standing. She was consistent in her actions and the way that she moved through this world. She loved to help children grow and influence them in positive ways to keep moving forward. That love was directly reflected in the way that she invested time, love, words, and care into her children and her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Cecil Singh. Left to honor and cherish her memory is her mother, Norma McKenzie, her sons, Nigel (Latrisha) and Lonsdale, sisters, Patricia, Ava, Myrna, and Sandra, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. "Suffer no more. Rest eternally. Say hello to Grandfather!"

A celebration of life will be held on April 17, 2026 at Howell Funeral Home, beginning 12 PM at 4510 Liberty Heights Ave, Gwynn Oak, MD 21207.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Claudette's name be made to a local church or women's shelter.
