Cloeanna “Joan” Statzer-Graham, 86, passed away on March 21, 2026, in Surprise, AZ, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on July 20, 1939, in Denver, CO, and was the beloved daughter of Ralph and Edna Howard and cherished sister to Jerry Neufeld.
Joan met Paul M. Statzer when his family moved to Denver in 1956, and they began attending First Baptist Church together. They were married on October 04, 1957, and together they raised four sons: Steven, Michael, Thomas, and Robert. Later in life, after being widowed, Joan found love again and married James A. Graham on October 07, 2016.
Joan had a deep love for the Lord from a young age. She began playing the piano as a child and continued to serve her church and the Lord by playing and singing with the choir. For several years, she played the piano and occasionally sang in a quartet. Joan also took the time to teach her granddaughters how to play.
She is survived by three sons, Mike (Karen) of Goodyear, AZ, Tom (Kim) of Mesa, AZ, and Robert (Robin) of Goodyear, AZ; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, with another on the way; and six step-great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Edna Howard; her first husband, Paul Statzer; her eldest son, Steve Statzer; and her second husband, James Graham.
