Cody Anne Byrd, 49, of Brevard County, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2026.
Born on March 30, 1976, Cody was a proud bicentennial baby. She was born and raised in Brevard County, a place she always considered home. She attended Ascension Catholic School and Melbourne Central Catholic before completing her education at Eau Gallie High School.
Cody was incredibly bright, with a natural intelligence and a fiercely independent spirit. She valued her autonomy and often found comfort in the quiet sanctuary of her own company. She had a deep appreciation for music, often finding songs that seemed to speak directly to her soul. She also loved a good movie, especially ones she could quote and inside jokes that became lasting reminders of shared laughter and good times.
She loved the ocean, beach days, and the simple joy of being near the water. She also had a lifelong love for animals and cared deeply for the many cats and dogs she had throughout her life.
Those who knew Cody best will remember her for her sharp sense of humor and the quiet depth she brought to the world around her. While she could be shy and reserved at first, those who earned her trust were rewarded with a vibrant, funny, and deeply genuine person who was truly one of a kind.
Cody had a deep love for her family and created memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Above all, her greatest love and proudest accomplishment was her son. He was her heart and her purpose.
She is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Debs Byrd, Jr.; her sister, Dalyn Grosse; and her brother, Robert Byrd.
She is survived by her beloved son, Hayden Byrd (Stone); her mother, Cathleen Byrd; her sisters, Deblyn Flack (Steven and nephew Steven) and Crystal Kocol (Jason and niece Noelle); along with many extended family members and loved ones.
Cody's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her humor, her spirit, and the love she felt so deeply. May she rest in peace.
