Colleen Kay Wilson passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in Livonia, Michigan, following a short illness. She was 74.
Born August 25, 1951, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Colleen was the daughter of Kenneth and Frances (Meggison) Wilson. She grew up in Southfield, Michigan, where she was the eldest of four siblings and a loving sister to Pamela, Kenneth, and Charles.
Colleen earned her Master's degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in 1989 and dedicated more than three decades of her life to supporting others through her work in the field both in Michigan and California, before retiring in 2014. Outside of her professional life, Colleen was deeply creative and found great joy in making art. She was especially known for her intricate black-pen drawings, a medium she loved for its precision and expressive detail. Her artwork was often shared with friends and family as gifts, and many will cherish the pieces she created over the years.
Colleen will also be remembered for her quick wit, warm heart, and the remarkable community of friends she built across the country. She had a gift for maintaining lifelong connections and brought laughter, insight, and kindness to those fortunate enough to know her.
She leaves behind her siblings, extended family members, loving partnerships and many dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A celebration of Colleen's life will be held at a later date.
