On November 28, 2025 Constance Whittington Helms, 71, passed away from pancreatic cancer surrounded by family in Ashland, Virginia. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Connie grew up in Severna Park, graduating from high school there in 1972. She subsequently completed her bachelor's degree in journalism at the University of Maryland, College Park, and earned an MBA at Loyola University Maryland.
Connie was blessed to have made many dear friends during the many chapters of her life, known many wonderful and remarkable people, and experienced some incredible times. She moves on cherishing every moment.
Connie is survived by immediate family members: mother Philippa Pessagno, of Ashland; sister, Shelley Whittington, of Ashland; husband, Jack Helms, of Grasonville, Maryland; niece Kelsey Dingler, her husband Christian, and grandniece Margot, of Richmond; nephews Kevin Weissgold, of Ashland, and Mike Dimaria, of Richmond; and beloved golden retriever Kiddo. She was preceded in death by her father, Royal E. Whittington, Jr.; sister, Laurie Dimaria; and brother, Chip Whittington.
