Constance Elaine Schifano, age 89, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, in Monterey, Tennessee. Born on November 6, 1936, in Jefferson, Ohio, Constance lived a full and meaningful life marked by compassion, resilience, and a deep love for her family.
Constance pursued a career in nursing, attending nursing school and becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Her dedication to caring for others was evident throughout her professional life and extended into her personal relationships. She was admired for her nurturing spirit and unwavering strength—qualities that left a lasting impression on those around her.
Affectionately known as Connie, she found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for gardening and took pride in cultivating beauty from the earth. Her kitchen was often filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals. Connie especially enjoyed exploring new cuisines and had a particular fondness for Italian food. Her culinary curiosity brought delight to many gatherings and created cherished memories for her loved ones.
Family was at the heart of Connie's world. She is survived by her children and their spouses: daughter Diane (Lonnie) Harvey, son Rick (Cynthia) Still, daughter Deborah (Bill) Ward, and son Christopher (Karen) Howard. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Aaron (Kristen) Harvey, Nicole (Clint) James, Suzan (Chris) DeMeo, Luke (Elizabeth) Still, Lindsey (Mason) Fischer, and Casey (Sierra) Thornton. In total, she was blessed with 22 Great Grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren who will carry forward the warmth of her memory.
Connie is also survived by her sisters Linda Silveus, Alice Silveus, and Gloria (Randy) Titler. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Schifano, her parents, her brother Gene, and her sister Judy.
Those who knew Connie remember her as both sweet-natured and strong—a rare combination that made her presence both comforting and inspiring. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched through kindness, care, and quiet determination.
