Cora Jean Crosby peacefully gained her heavenly wings on February 1, 2026, at the age of 91, surrounded by loved ones in Easton, PA. She was a loving daughter, devoted wife, caring mother, dedicated grandmother, aunt, sister, and a woman whose quiet strength and kind heart touched everyone she met.
Born on April 14 and raised in Durham, North Carolina, Cora was the daughter of the late Charles McBroom and Gertrude Evans McBroom. She was preceded in death by her brothers Charles Jr., Walter, William "Poochie," and her sister, Betty. Cora was a proud graduate of Hillside High School where she was a good student and a member of the basketball team. After meeting the love of her life, John Crosby, at the age of 23, she married and later moved to Brooklyn, New York.
After relocating to New York, Cora worked at the Bulova Watch Company and later retired after 20 years of dedicated service at Ideal Electric.
Cora's greatest joy in life was her family. She was the beloved wife of the late John "Buster" Crosby and a devoted mother to two sons, John "Buddy" Crosby, Jr. (Sylvia) and Andre Crosby; and two daughters, Gisel "GiGi" Crosby and the late Harriet "Dinah" Crosby Judah (Yoel). She was a cherished sister-in-law to Dorothy Jones of Walterboro, SC, and Anna Jones of Atlanta, GA, and a loving aunt to their fourteen nieces and nephews.
Cora was a devoted grandmother to Ariel Judah, Daniel Judah, Josiah Judah, Michael Judah, Joseph Judah, Zab Judah, Andre Crosby, Jr., Cherise "Reesie" Crosby, Sean Crosby, John Crosby III, Starlita Crosby, Nicole Crosby, Latesha Jackson (deceased), Tiwan Griffin, Essence James, Joseph James and 28 great grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory is a host of loved ones, especially Niyah Clark (deceased), the Clark Family, the Jenkins Family, and family dog, Coco Chanel.
Cora built a life rooted in love, faith, and service to others. She was known for her caring spirit, her attention to detail, and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and cared for. Impeccably neat and well put together, Cora took pride in her home and her appearance—so much so that you could "eat off the floor" when visiting her. She set a standard of grace and excellence for everyone around her.
In her leisure time, Cora enjoyed playing Nintendo, especially Pac-Man. She loved watching WWF wrestling and her favorite soap operas were The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she celebrated it with an abundance of home decorations while giving gifts generously.
Her gentle wisdom and loving heart reflected the woman described in Proverbs 31:26-27. "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness."
Though Cora's earthly journey has come to an end, her spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, her faith, and her love.
