It is with great sadness that the family of sweet Cora Lucille Hill, 86, of Temple Terrace, Florida, announce her peaceful passing on March 29, 2026. Lovingly known by family and friends as Lucy, she was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone she met, and her presence will be deeply missed.
Lucy was born 17 Oct 1939 in the township of Dovre, Wisconsin, and raised in nearby Chetek. At the young age of 18, Lucy traveled to San Antonio, Texas to visit her sister, Ann, where she met her future husband, Moir Hill, an airman and avid baseball player assigned at Kelly AFB. Two years later, Lucy and Moir would welcome a daughter into their lives and name her Kelly after the place where they met. Lucy's love for life and adventure would find her living much of her life in Virginia, Tennessee, New Mexico and Florida. Lucy had an extreme love of the outdoors, nature, horses and the American West. She was loved for her feisty spirit, signature faded blue jeans, flannel shirts, colorful bandanas and well-worn, trail-dusty cowboy boots. Lucy was kind to everyone, devoted to her family and friends, and had a fun, loving, creative spirit. She will be missed by all, especially her beautiful smile, bountiful butterfly kisses and delicious deviled eggs.
Family will remember Lucy during three small, private services in Pensacola, Florida; along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Roanoke, Virgina; and in Castle Rock, Colorado. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her beautiful sister, Ann, and her favorite "dos amigos".
