On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the world lost a little of its sparkle when Coralee Anne (Lang) Deal, 66, slipped away too soon. She was a loving companion, sister, aunt, cousin, mother of two, and grandmother. This free-spirited and energetic woman will be an enduring example of a life well-lived for all of us who loved her and we will miss her greatly.
Coralee was born January 29, 1959, in Lancaster, Ohio to Paul S. and Viola M. Lang. Coralee was a proud graduate of William V. Fisher Catholic High School, Class of 1977 and also attended Ohio University-Lancaster.
The youngest child with four older siblings, Coralee quickly learned how to be heard. Once during Mass at St Mary’s of the Assumption, the audio system failed. The Rev. Fr. John Wolf asked Coralee to read the epistle and gospel. She needed no microphone to be heard from the choir loft or all the way to Fountain Square!
As a young woman, Coralee worked at Basha’s Grocery where she was known to scan items so fast that one day her bagger came to work wearing a catcher’s mitt. Coralee was a travel agent and travelled herself. She toured Germany, walked on the Great Wall of China, sipped margaritas on the Mexican Riviera, visited her brother Chris in Puerto Rico, and strolled beaches in Hawaii. She cruised Alaska’s Inside Passage but was also proud to see numerous sites in the Lower 48.
She made her home in Sierra Vista, Arizona, with her long-time companion, Joseph Pizzullo. She enjoyed bowling and axe-throwing. But Coralee is known best for her love of shopping. She once announced," If I am cremated, sprinkle my ashes over my favorite shopping malls."
After Coralee was declared legally blind, she pursued her license as a Massage Therapist. She was strong and her healing touch was intuitive. After an hour-long massage, her mother, Viola, who was in her late 80s at the time, exclaimed, “Look! I can touch my toes now!” And she did.
Coralee was predeceased by parents Paul and Viola Lang, Cathy Pizzullo, grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Coralee is survived by her loving companion, Joseph Pizzullo, who brought joy and adventure to their lives together. She is also survived by children Benjamin Deal, Elizabeth Deal, grandsons Kade & Kane Quintela, brothers Stephen (Peggy) Lang, J. Christopher (Maritza) Lang, Peter (Mindy) Lang, best friend and sister, Vicki (Lang) Chapman, Matthew Pizzullo & Dawn McNitt, and Joseph W. Pizzullo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her deeply.
