Our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother and Mimo, Cristelia Almendarez Wilson, 94, was called home by our Lord on
April 16,2026
She was born on July 13, 1931 in Falfurrias, Texas to Trinidad Deleon Almendarez and Pablo Almendarez. She was the last surviving sibling of all her brothers and sisters who were Gregorio Almendarez (Maria), Petra Almendarez Trejo (Doroteo), Jesus Almendarez (Mac), Manuela Almendarez Bayarena (Jose), Ricardo Almendarez (Elodia), Maria N. Almendarez Garza (Ali) and Guadalupe Almendarez. Her beloved sister-in-law, Gloria Almendarez, still survives her.
She is survived by her loving children, Bedelia Perez Garcia(Luis) and Jaime Perez, her six grandchildren, Elena Condrin(John), Mike Lozano(Gabriella), Daniella Martinez(Ricardo), David Lee Perez, Jaime Perez, Jr. And Mark Perez. She also has four great grandchildren, Hailey Pulido, Stacy Martinez, Robert (Robbie) Villanueva, and Lilia Rae Cristelia Lozano. Also surviving her is her loving ex-daughter-in-law, Laura Rodriguez, who always loved her and visited her very often.
Cris, as she was known to practically everyone, was an outgoing, lively, talkative person-an extrovert if you will. She was always the life of the party and enjoyed and loved people. This came through in her employment at the local nursing home as an activities director for over twenty years. During her time there, she was awarded many honors for her performance as activities director. She then went to work as activities director at TLC Adult Daycare Center for a few years before her retirement. She thoroughly loved both these positions and brought much joy to the elders in both facilities. She often expressed how much she loved her "little people" and how much she enjoyed entertaining them.
Special thanks to Gulf Shores Rehabilitation and Healthcare. They were wonderful in caring for our loved one-the doctors, nurses, CNA's and everyone else involved in some way with her care.
Also, thank you to Altus Hospice for their specialized care, pastor visits, and special equipment they provided.
Words cannot express the gratefulness and appreciation we feel knowing she was under such loving care during her time with these two facilities.
Pallbearers: Rick Martinez, Joe Martinez, Mike Lozano, Luis Garcia and Unice. A Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00P.M. Tuesday April 21, 2026 at Alaniz Funeral Home.
