CSM Kurt Richter

Kurt was born in York, PA in March 1950. Kurt married his college sweetheart, Jo Ellen Koppenhaver in 1970. Kurt was drafted in 1971. He and his young family moved to Ft. Gordon, GA until he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1973. Kurt reenlisted in the Army and remained until his retirement after 30 years of service in 2005. Duty stations included Ft. Dix, Ft. Leonard Wood, Ft Gordon, Ft. Campbell, Ft. Hood, DLI, Ft. Bliss, and Ft. Huachuca. Overseas assignments were Munich, Augsburg, and Wiesbaden. Kurt's last duty assignment was CSM of the 111th MI Bde at Ft. Huachuca.
Kurt is preceeded in death by his parents Kenneth and Rozella Richter. He is survived by his spouse of 55 years Jo Ellen, his sons Bryan (Kristine) and Kevin (Rebecca) and his sister Karen.
Celebration of Life service will be held at One Community Church ( behind Target) at 1100 hours on April 30, 2026. Committal services will be held at the Southern Arizona Veteran's Memorial Cemetary chapel at 1300 hours with full military honors.
