Curt was born on a mild June day in 1955 in the little town of Tillamook, Oregon. A few years later the Dobson family relocated to Ketchikan, AK where Curt, his brothers, and sister grew up in the family vending business. In his late teen years they relocated to Eastern Washington where he received a GED and qualifications to operate heavy equipment. In the 70's he met and married the love of his life and had 3 wonderful children in Eastern Washington. During these times he enjoyed many adventures of hunting, and horseback riding. Opportunities sent him and his family to the west side of Washington where his entrepreneurial and professional skills had him working in the manufactured home industry for several years. While living in western Washington, he shared many adventures of hunting, fishing, and gold prospecting with family, friends, and co workers. After changes in the economy, he closed the manufactured home services business and relocated to Oregon where he worked as a carpenter and steel worker for a few years before returning to Alaska to rejoin his family in Soldotna.
In Alaska he worked with his family and friends in the lumber and construction industries on the Kenai Peninsula in between adventures of gold prospecting, fishing, and hunting. After years of living among the family in Soldotna, he relocated his cabin to a place in Kasilof where he enjoyed summers of fish camp and solitude and winters in Washington and Nevada with family being grandpa.
After years of enjoying being a dad and a grandpa through many adventures, Curt's health started failing him and he returned to Yakima Washington, where he passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of March 11, 2026
